After years it became crystal clear I had an inguinal hernia on my left side which I had open surgery on two months ago. (makes a hell of a difference). Soon after that I pushed for a CT scan .... so now I'm on the list to be operated on the right too. So stopped running again. Construction on my patio/outdoor kitchen on hold again, stacking firewood one log at a time ... it's dull and boring :(
(for those who wonder, yeah, I tried to push examination/treatment on both sides from the beginning but was told it made no difference, left was so severe they had to take it side by side anyways.)

My problem 15 years ago was the NHS, which is not fond of what they deemed 'sports medicine'. Maybe that's changed. I found a surgeon in Germany that did a dual inguinal repair and it's hanging in there great. I had to wait about a month to do much, so definitely take it easy!

Glad you could get it fixed. My problem problem wasn't getting it repaired but that no one thought of such a hernia in years. Not until a bulge appeared. At first glance of the bulge from a distance(!) the surgeon already said "It's not even a question if we should operate" . But I certainly will take it slow now (not easy, i'm not one who can sit still) but from first hand experience I know it's worth to avoid letting it get to the stage it was on the left.

Way to go! Feels good to advocate for your health, they're called "doctors", not "listeners".
