Steam's LGBTQ+ Tag Reportedly Blocked In China As It 'Violates Local Laws And Regulations' [NB: tags are blocked, not the games]

China is improving but they're pretty much a couple of decades behind on lgbt rights. There's a conservative faction in the party that sees lgbt culture as divisive/western decadence and suppresses anything deemed to "promote" it.

There have been recent legal changes giving people more protection though so hopefully things keep improving.

heavyhanded, but maybe it will force lbgt creators to incorporate their themes more organically into their art, so that it isn't the primary focus.
