I just reckon ppl should be more respectful and remember these guys are just moving at the whims of the government of the day.

The APS should probably command more respect in general, sone very bright people work there and they manage good work despit constant meddling.

However many department heads have quite a bit of leeway in how they carry out their brief and shaping the desires of a minister is not hugely difficult. Nobody is reading past the first paragraph of the executive summary of the report.

Plus despite pretending to be they are not apolitical creatures.

Accountability is necessary, and everyone could stand to be laughed at more.

The greens are relentlessly attacked by low brow media and they just suck at countering it. labor has mainstream visibility and money from whoring themselves to lobbieists, plus a bit of "well my dad used to be a union man" stuff.

The greens and green voters just suck at talking to uneducated people, but most of the country that would agree with their policies aren't people with uni degrees who sit about debating policies. They had some like Max Chandler snd Scott Ludlam who seemed to get that you've gotta tap into the anger and mock the establishment a bit.

It's tricky though, because the more poncy greenies get upset if you start doing it.

Be way better if people said you're fucked and you should become a monk? Heaps more realistic too obviously?

Don't be a child. Infatuation is fun but meaningless, love is built on years of experiences.

If they're paid at the award whatever, if they're not it creates some pretty fucked up incentives.

And they're not. So the government will be incentivised not to hire people and an artificially cheap pool of labour will harm labour bargaining power. Also minimum security prisoners (people that got railroaded) get exploited. Who wins here?

Yeah man you're so enlightened for staying ignorant of the moral cost of your recreational dietary choices.

Why do chuds immediately start writing like they're penning some missive in the east India trading company the moment they're called out? Is it a genetic memory of chuddiness?

There is courage in watching death you cause or ignore, and there is also courage in watching the death of those who you are the witness and advocate for, or you know being there for someone's last moments.
