Russia doesn't want negotiations. China does.
China doesn't want Russia to lose, so now that things are going bad for Russia China wants this to end now before Russia loses.

Where is China getting their oil from now?
I know, they have quite stocked reserves, but with the strait closed and Russia more and more unable to export, I guess that's also getting to be a pressure point for China
