Why not just mine sideways up? That's what I always did back then. God, I need a new Minecraft-like.

Try out vintage story or luanti. They’re both decently good

Minecraft with a mod pack is basically a whole new game, tried for the first time recently and am having a blast

Just play an older verdion like 1.12 or something

Hytale is looking reasonably promising. It's still in Early Access, but it already plays well.

But my pickaxe has low durability.

Mind, I dont actually like minecraft, so idk how someone who does like minecraft would like it, but this felt like minecraft with spaceships to me.

I played it on 100% within like just a little over a month, 115 hours for all achievements. This game really did it to me. :D

But you put torches along the way...? Any dead end gets 2 blocks of cobble.

Only put them on the right side, so you always know which way is further in and which is out.

When going in, always place torches on the left side/wall. Follow torches on the right to find the exit.

I have always done the opposite. Works great!

Just do what my son does, turn off item loss on death and just kill yourself to get back to base. :-p
