History would seem to suggest that they would.

It's happened over and over again, but the example that comes to mind for me is the final battle of Berlin, when Hitler Youth were conscripted by force regardless of age. They'd be hanged or shot if they refused, and many kids were.

There have been suggestions and warnings that in autumn, after faking parliamentary elections, there might be a mobilization in Russia.

(Hopefully, a revolution soon after that, since a mobilization means giving proper weapons to random blokes and sending them to a war which they didn't intend to join.)
