Interestingly this wouldn't even effect me. I subscribe by bookmarking channels and check them out directly. Change your behaviour, become uninfluenced by the algorithm!

Sure as the algorithm is optional on YouTube anyway. But what if they come after everything in the same law rather than just YouTube. Now Lemmy needs to leave the UK because of how simple it's algorithm is, essentially just based on activity/upvotes and no interest in your country. But it's considered social media and must comply.
