It's not just money because, like the title says, you also have to feel safe when you go out (and for me, mental health issues are also a big difficulty), but having fun often costs money. Sure, you can just go on a walk and that's free, but so many activities cost money. All the posted jobs I see that I'm qualified for are full-time, but I can't work full-time. So I have very little money to do fun stuff, and buying a tub of ice cream is a treat :c
Makes sense considering third spaces like malls, parks, underground tunnels, etc. are being bought up by tech companies and turned into AI data centers. They're pricing people out of third spaces.
I tell myself "when we move to the city, it'll all be okay, and I'll make friends" (no clue why I think in the plural first-person lol). It's a lie, though. I'm never gonna have fun or make friends. I suppose I'm simply broken.
i felt the same before i moved to the city. now i have friends, though they live in other cities over five hours by train away, but it's still great🌸
yeah, for me it took not having a car anymore, so i had to spend a large part of the day commuting to work by bus every day, to finally seriously look into moving

That sounds... amazing. I really need to work on moving. Executive dysfunction goes brrrrr. Maybe I need ADHD meds.

I think for me it'll be the heat. Where I am now, it's dangerously hot. Where I'm going, it's gonna be cold :3

I am ashamed to admit that in my teens and twenties feeling unsafe was an essential part of going out and having a good time.

It is Krysten Ritter, yes. But this is from breaking Bad where she plays the character Jane

Thanks! We have never watched Breaking Bad since it is not really our thing. However, good to know we still know human faces.
