[Discuss] Whats the first thing you'll play on the Machine?

I am awaiting the machine and should get it tomorrow.
One of the biggest questions, after plugging it in: What is the first game to download and play.

On my side it will either be Final Fantasy 8 Remastered or Chrono Trigger. I know, kind of retro, but hey :D

But I'm interested in your first pick?

I'm waitlisted until next year but at least that will give me plenty of time to hear others real world reviews

Oh yeah. Absolutely. I am quite confident reading different news sites, that were not just farming for clicks.

I’m not getting one (here because I browse /all) but if I did — Deus Ex. Curious to see how it runs, especially with the controller.

I got mine yesterday and my son and I played Untitled Goose Game and It Takes Two together for a few hours last night.

I love it so far! great console, going to do some benchmarking against my PC soon to find out what the biggest differences are performance wise.

Got mine too. Delivery Guy fucked Up .. but got it.

I Love it. Regarding games its better than my current Desktop. I will take a closer look on the OS at the weekend - and I am quite curios. My Desktop uses Mint, which has been nice to me so far.

I also love that the Machine is very silent. My PS5 I used to have was louder.

Its about 20% worse than my desktop on cyberpunk 2077 on ultra (no RT) at 1080p. My desktop though is an ultrawide monitor at 3440x1440 and running it at that evens it out a bit. Ultimately its going to be about equal though because the HDMI cable I have running to my tv caps out at 1080p 60Hz which looks perfectly fine on my TV and most of the games I play are not nearly as demanding as cyberpunk 2077.

The fact it uses 30W of power and is just about as good as my desktop which uses WAY more speaks volumes to how much more efficient tech has gotten in the 6+ years since built the latest iteration of my PC.

Nice PC btw.

Ofc is a top notch Desktop PC a whole different Story. But I doubt that Valve is aiming for those people. If you want high performance, you'll pay.

For me that GameCube 2 is perfect

Ryzen 7 5800X and an RX6800 has been great. I've been team red for a long time and currently use endeavourOS without issues on it. I absolutely bought the steam machine as a console for me and my kids to share and it's doing that perfectly. I plan on not making any changes to the steam machine either, my steam decks are both stock as well.

Honestly I think the biggest thing my PC has going for it is 16Gb of VRAM and 32GB of ram but it's DDR4 so it's probably not even as fast as the ram in the steam machine.

Either way a great purchase and I look forward to using the heck out of it.

It will do great. Computer Games are much more affordable and you can get Games from Gog or Epic running through it. With Gog working on an official Launcher afaik.

I played around a bit today and yes. I totally agree.
