loads up any Futurama episode

skip if the sad dog episode

edgemaster72@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 50d

sad dog episode is called Jurassic Bark, to help with identification for those wanting to avoid it

albbi@piefed.ca · 3 pts · 50d

Make sure to watch Bender's Big Score and that episode won't be so sad anymore.

I sit at the dining room table, my wife isn't allowed to talk once she's served dinner. I force the children to say grace, then I quiz them about World War 2 concentration camps.

They don't get desert if they don't get their questions correct. Our live-in family therapist has praised me for coming up with this system. We've all signed an agreement stating that this could provide "happy memories of family life".

So I have it in writing.

I hope you have it notarized, too...

I'm convinced that everybody does that. Current show for me is Spider-noir.

scytale@piefed.zip · 11 pts · 51d

I'm the opposite. I'm halfway through my popcorn bucket by the time the movie starts.

i find the show/movie before i get my food together

Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 50d (1 reply)

Did you like it right from the get go or did it take a few episodes? I couldn't get into it at all from the first episode and gave up.

hOrni@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 50d

I very much liked it from the first episode. But I've only seen 2 for now.

Time to watch Perfect Blue again, I guess!

bitjunkie@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 50d (6 replies)

I liked Paranoia Agent and heard of Perfect Blue, but only just now realized that they had the same director. Should I check this out?

f314@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 50d

Definitely! It’s a very good movie, regardless of being anime or not.

BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 50d (4 replies)

Perfect Blue is an influential movie, the movie black swan was adapted from it if you've seen that

bitjunkie@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 50d (1 reply)

Like… the Aronofsky movie with Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis? That Black Swan? Holy shit…

BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 49d

Yes, although it's not a direct adaption, some sequences from perfect blue were copied exactly the same

CaptPretentious@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 50d (1 reply)

Wait, really!? I've never heard that. Maybe I'll check out Black Swan.

BackgrndNoize@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 49d

It's not a one to one adaptation though, the director took the theme and some scenes from perfect blue and then did his own thing with it, so you can watch both and take something from each of them

IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 50d

Easy, just put Ruri Rocks.

cute anime about geology. And it is amazing. Like learning from a university geology lecture while watching a cute coming of age slice of life girl anime.

I don't eat and watch at the same time for health reasons but still me irl because I'll get started with chores the moment I find the right song...

bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de · 4 pts · 50d

I had the correct show to watch. I just needed to tweak Jellyfin's mpv.conf so that my system would play HDR10 content without stuttering.

HubertManne@piefed.social · 2 pts · 50d

totally me

matching a movie to the vibe is getting to be real work sometimes
