Trump doesn't like losers. Putin looks like a loser right now, so he's flip flopping.
Also yeah what the other comment said. Nobody gives a shit about the kompromat anymore. Putin could post a direct VHS video tomorrow of trumps uncensored mushroom balls deep in a 9 year old, and the GOP would hail him as a hero.
In addition to that, there's honestly a very real possibility that his mind is gone enough at this point that he can't even really follow instructions anymore without someone physically present and nudging him along like a giant toddler.
When he speaks, he still puts Ukraine and Russia on the same level of guiltyness in this war. He will never not favour Putin, it's just the war became increasingly sided to Ukraine and he's tired of the whole thing.
