In a rough estimate for how much money it would cost for Wikipedia to quit asking for donation for like the next 10 or 20 years....or forever?

Or instead of throwing money at them. What could the net buy them so they would be good for a long time?

I've been waiting for the 2026 update. So many sights have seen such an insane spike in AI not scraping traffic this year that has to play in some.

They have enough. It’s why I stopped donating years ago.

They have enough money for the rest of time, they are just incredibly greedy. No amount of money will stop the begging.

The thing that worries me about wikipedia is that they are increasing the expenses as the donations go up. So if someday donations stop they will not have as much saved as they should.

Also most of the massive increase in expenses that Wikipedia has each years seems unjustified.

Ive paid my $1.50 per month for at least 5 years now. I don't think I'll ever stop paying.

However much it takes to make sure Elon can't touch it.

I hope OP is secretly Elon Musk trying to decide how much money to donate to wikipedia to get them to stop asking for donations
