Was there ever a candidate for President of the US, who actually stepped outside the lobbyist crap and gave real and honest answers that were not rehearsed?
IMO, Ralph Nader and Bernie Sanders are/were both always willing to engage and are pretty honest. Both in it to improve the lives of Americans. Even Wesley Clarke seemed resistant to corruption and like a straight shooter to me.

I'd volunteer Vermin Supreme as an example of a candidate in the most recent US election that didn't give rehearsed answers and kowtow to lobbyists.

I mean politicians do occasionally get interview or debate questions they might not expect, in which case they have to answer something too…
