“These people are so fucking stupid, I don’t know what to say about it,” said Carville in a video for Politicon. “So now we have this idea that these insurgent Democrats — and what is their solution? Is their solution to beat Republicans, to run against Republicans? No!”

He continued, “Their solution is to beat Democrats like they’re part of the problem.”

Feels a bit Dunning-Kruger to me. He has no clue how shallow and dumb his own position is, and or how the people he's disagreeing with have already thought through it and far beyond. So he thinks the stupidity lies with them.

Did Carville just find out about primaries? Did he just wake up from some kind of cajun hibernation where he missed the DNC primarying the fuck out of everyone who identifies as leftist since the dawn of time?

cybervseas@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 21d

cajun hibernation

He's late to the party, so... tardy gras

TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world · 45 pts · 22d (7 replies)

“I am a proud liberal,” Carville confirmed Friday. “I am not a leftist..."

Finally! Someone who knows there's a fucking difference.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 16 pts · 22d

he sounds more like a conservative, usually when someone uses that tone they are neither a DNC, or even the left. cons love to use this doublespeak alot.

CubitOom@infosec.pub · 9 pts · 22d (5 replies)

I'm not a liberal, I'm a leftist

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 7 pts · 22d (4 replies)

We are talking about James.
We both know we know the difference.

CubitOom@infosec.pub · 4 pts · 22d (3 replies)

Yeah, idk why I just felt like saying it.

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 3 pts · 22d (2 replies)

For yourself, or rhetorically?
I can read it as a bit, and I can welcome it🤭

CubitOom@infosec.pub · 3 pts · 22d (1 reply)

It was a bit

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 2 pts · 22d

🤣👏🤣 you got me.

Damn, educating amekos sure is hungry work.
Time to chow some sum.

Centrists become abusive when they know they're wrong.

This guy only advised one winning campaign three and a half decades ago, and only won that one because Ross Perot split the republican vote and Bill Clinton was more charismatic than GHWB.

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 21d (2 replies)

I'll never forget when they got CNN to leave the mics on so Elizabeth Warren could call Bernie Sanders a sexist and a liar on live, national TV. The euphemistically-named centrists are the reason we got Donald not once but twice.

These people deserve a permanent case of crabs.

Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 21d (1 reply)

My favorite was when they were like "Did you tell Warren that a woman can't win" and Sanders was like "no" and then they turned to Warren and were like "How did you feel when Sanders said a woman can't win?"

Now the same people say women can't win whenever someone brings up the idea of AOC running.

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 21d

Yup, when truly, a woman hasn't won because the female candidates they give us are brazenly and openly corrupt or completely inauthentic.

deft@lemmy.wtf · 25 pts · 22d

Old man yells irrelevant stupid neoliberal crap.

Drusas@fedia.io · 21 pts · 22d

I’m interested on learning why.

charade_you_are@sh.itjust.works · 17 pts · 22d (4 replies)

So this piece of shit is still alive? I thought he died in the 90s when he was relevant for some reason

kylie_kraft@lemmy.world · 22 pts · 22d (3 replies)

he's 81 years old and thinks his opinion should still matter. it's distressingly common in the American gerontocracy and, well, we've all seen the results.

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 7 pts · 22d (2 replies)

It's actually an anthropological issue:
As elders survive longer and fit better than the minors they oppress, they use their survivorship bias to groom the next generation to fit their exact needs.

It's happening everywhere.
Where I live, it's hopeless.

bjc@scribe.disroot.org · 1 pts · 20d (1 reply)

more than any other place i've been on the internet, lemmy really feels like the place to go for watching the first draft of a propaganda campaign

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 1 pts · 20d

But, that's kinda blatant. Who goes to offshoot a decentralized reddit if not people that create a draft of something without having the time and patience to finish it?

FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 21d

It'll be better for us all when he joins his buddy Lindsey Graham.

Old ass man fears change, judgement, and accountability. News at 11.

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 1 pts · 21d

When are Amerikka going to flush out their old demagogy?

Zaktor@sopuli.xyz · 11 pts · 22d (2 replies)

He is utterly without shame. In the same interview he was decrying the left for "infighting".

Carville unloads on far-left Democrats over party infighting ahead of midterms

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · 7 pts · 22d (1 reply)

Oh so this is what libbies mean by “left unity”: rule by the majority

Zaktor@sopuli.xyz · 8 pts · 22d

Only when the majority is moderate. When the majority is progressive that's a devious attack that should not be rewarded.

scroll_responsibly@lemmy.sdf.org · 9 pts · 21d (1 reply)

Who’s James Carville?

lefaucet@slrpnk.net · 7 pts · 21d

A guy who some credited with being instrumental in getting Bill Clinton elected that quickly faded from relevance but keeps appearing on CNN and MSNBC to spout his opinions, which are frequently either bad, irrelevant and/or dumb.

Corporate dem to the core as far as I can tell.

yonderbarn@lazysoci.al · 5 pts · 21d

Media pundits need to be flushed out just like their political counterparts.

solidheron@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 20d

The greeks said something similar before the Romans kicked their ass

Corvidae@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 21d

On the subject of democratic progressives: Carville's judgment, "Left wing idiots"; Trump's judgment, "Communists".

AntiBullyRanger@ani.social · -4 pts · 22d (1 reply)

Hey libs, where’s that “liberal unity” I read about so very very often?

SirActionSack@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 22d

It's easier for conservatives to line up behind a leader because they don't think about what the leader says. Listen and Believe is the way (when it's an old white dude saying things that make them feel good).
