In line with my wetshaversary, I used the very first DE razor that I ever got. For a long time this was my only razor, and I ran tons of different blades through it taking notes along the way. I had a spreadsheet that kept score of different things -- how close did a blade shave, how comfortable was it, how many uses could I get out of one, how expensive were they... I had a lot of time on my hands during the pandemic, so it kept the juices flowing.

Feather was one of my least favorite blades. They didn't shave that well for me, gave me irritation, and were expensive! I used the razor on setting 3 almost exclusively during that time, but today I used setting 5.

Am I better shaver now? Is my skin more accustomed to sharp objects? Am I better at creating lather? The answer must be yes, because I got a very nice, close, comfortable shave.

The answer must be yes to all three, I'd reckon.

Without any evidence to the contrary, I'd reckon the same.

This blade felt a lot better on the second shave. Maybe these just need to break in a bit.

Kryptonite is always a pleasure on a warm day.

Kryptonite is always a pleasure on a warm day.

It depends very much who you are

snooting@wetshav.ing · 3 pts · 56d (2 replies)

I suppose this is true. There are notable exceptions.

I don't believe @gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social has ever used Kryptonite in his videos 🤔

That's right. I'll go with Sea Spice Lime for that hit of lime, and I'll forego all that WS-23 🙂
