If you look there are several indications that raccoons are dangerous/vicious in the screenshot, including the summary at the top.
They really are violent. Long ago I was at a nature preserve with my then-girlfriend and she was enamored with these racoons. The ranger who was there then proceeded to tell us the reason one has a messed up ear is that they fight all the time and injure each other severely, occasionally killing one another. Also I had an experience myself once with a raccoon practically charge me which was insane... Yeah they're not to be underestimated.

Also, apparently their poop is insanely toxic, which can be a problem if raccoons decide to invade your garbage regularly...
