Does anyone know how CEB holds up in wet or cold environments?

Firstly, I love the subject of this community. It seems like most solar punk content assumes an arid or tropical environment. Obviously different solutions are needed for other climates.

Anyway. I'm fascinated by CEB (compressed earth bricks). I've watched many videos about how the machines work and how to mix the right type of sediment. But I mostly see CEB used in very arid climates. Are they strong enough to hold up in a continental climate that gets strong rains and severe cold? Do they need a coating, chemical stabilization, or are they just or are they just a terrible idea outside of deserts?
