Are suspender clips supposed to go right on the belt loops? I could see arguments in both directions (the loops provide more layers so are more durable, the waistband is liable to be covered by a belt and so visible damage is more acceptable) but ... I just always assumed they were meant for the waistband.
You're right, they shouldn't go on the belt loops, but my cheap suspenders slip off otherwise. The best solution are suspenders that button to the inside of the waistband, but my pants don't accommodate those.
The only time I've worn suspenders was the time I used the kind that go under your shirt. You're very much more fashionable than I - I was trying to learn, not correct!
