Benito Mussolini was successfully voted out of office in 1943. Yes, other things happened too, but the electoral defeat was key.
Augusto Pinochet was voted out of office in Chile in 1989.
Frank Bainimarama and Jair Bolsonaro were both voted out of office, and that only happened four years ago.
Is it common? Far from it, and it usually requires more than just votes. But it does work, sometimes; and when it does, it's usually significantly less bloody.

If Bolsonaro was less incompetent to not oppose the other right wing morons in Brazil or USA was in the current plans for Latin America I really doubt would be possible to vote the turd out.
At least you need to try instead of say it’s lost, I saw friends more to the left refusing to vote for Harris. Now they are complaining. The moment you refuse to vote, you’re helping the other side

There was no "electoral defeat", Mussolini was the prime minister and so he could've been kicked out only by the king Vittorio Emanuele III
If those "other things" didn't happen, the king would've kept mussolini as the prime minister

Republicans and Democrats are on the same side, though. Both are servants of capital.
