They're both fighting over the same pile of scrap to build whatever they're building to defeat the big bad, when they both reach for the same spare pattern buffer. It activates, releasing Scotty. He tsk's their work, pulls up his sleeves and announces "Looks like two youngins in need of a miracle!"
John de Lancie's way of delivering lines is so theatrical that it's hard to believe he ever plays / played some regular dude. The guy is born to strut on a stage. If he's not doing theatre, the only kinds of roles that seem to make sense with that voice and that style are gods.
Even in that MacGyver episode MacGyver sounds calm and laid back, but de Lancie's character seems like he's about to give a speech.

Q: “I like this guy, I’m going to make him fight Egyptian gods.”

Who would win?

Depends. Seducing women? MacGyver. Building a warp core? Strangely enough also MacGyver.

Geordi would reroute the phase inducers and reverse the polarity of the articulation frame.
MacGyver would rip up the carpet, unscrew a bulkhead, rip out an EPS conduit and duct tape them together

My favorite Q episode was the one where he caused two passenger jets to collide over Albuquerque, NM.
Repelle@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 26d
That was a fun one. I always liked the one where he put everyone in a labyrinth and took away their magic and wings.

He needs belt buckles, shoelace, and a piece of gum to make a nuclear reactor. So a warp core isn't too much more
matlag@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 28d
Of course he can build that warp core, but what do you want him to do with the ductape?
