I’ve never seen anyone shoplift and you can’t, too.

If I have to scan and bag my own groceries why can't I get a 5 finger discount?

The grocery store seems to have forgotten you gotta pay people to care about doing a good job. I'm just acting my wage here.

Cashiers put on the fake smile and silently groan whenever something doesn't ring up and the customer goes "I guess it's free then, heh heh". Well that shit gets a lot less funny when I'm ringing stuff up myself. Now it really is free.

It's offset by the number of times I've bought a pack of seltzer cans and forgotten it on the thing.

The thumbnail really mismatches the article.

Americans are shoplifting everyday essentials, with food and nonalcoholic drinks ranking as the most popular items to steal, the study found.

Clothing and personal hygiene products were the second- and third-most popular items chosen by shoplifters, according to LendingTree.

I'm normally well-behaved with this, but if it won't scan and it's fucking about then it gets a cheeky 100% discount.

I had to read that headline 3 times to realize that narcing on shoplifters wasn't on the rise.
