These look amazing! What kind of knot did you use? I want to learn it.

Jerb322@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 31d

Thank you. I don't remember what they're called. I just youtubed "tying paracord" and looked for a knot that looked neat. The loops are simple braids. The shorter stick has 2 types of knot. The longer stick just one. I just kind of made up a way to tie them together, not sure if it's "right".

I also am curious about your process. Did you bake or treat the wood pre-seal? How many hours of work went into them?

Jerb322@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 31d

The sticks sat in my garage for over a year. I don't know, maybe 4 hours each, total. Sanding and tying the knots, took the most time. I've never really done much woodworking before. It's all kind of experimental for me.

Suddenly I get why a dog would be obsessed with a stick. Those are some pleasing to behold objects.

I appreciate it.
