You can do this by setting two mirrors opposite each other. It's pretty amazing if you didn't have a computer growing up.

I remember my child mind being blown when some clothing store my mom took me to had two giant mirrors facing each other. I guess it was so you could see how you looked with their outfits, but I was amazed by the infinite hall of me.

I've seen a small box that was all mirrors inside you could put your head into in some science center, it's way better, you have to try it if you have the chance

Me as a 10 year old in my relatives 3-door mirror/medicine cabinet that i opened doors on the right and left and stuck my head into: i have become the leader of the horde of openchan clones

You were easily entertained, were you?

I was staring into infinity!

And infinity is entertaining dang it!

Since we're dealing with magic or divine rites, imagine if there was recursion with no latency. That would be so weird.

shweddy@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 27d (2 replies)

This is trippy I'm trying to imagine it but like I'm still thinking of it with lag

FiniteBanjo@feddit.online · 14 pts · 27d (1 reply)

Maybe it would just be louder. Maybe infinitely louder. Maybe it would destroy the universe. Or just the ball itself, requiring a reset.

It's probably asymptotic.

danc4498@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 27d

This is probably the equivalent of traveling at or faster than light speed.

cypherix93@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 27d

Recursion without latency sounds like entire collapse of time as a dimension? It'd just be an infinite blob of matter right?

phdepressed@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 27d

There's lag unless its magically projected into your brain. There's a time delay for photon signal and visual processing otherwise.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
