What is the rule 4?

Hello, i was exploring this community (im very new in all the Lemmy stuff) and i see that there is a modlog section (great! i dont knew about this transparency feature before, very healthy), so i click in and see that there are a few recents bans with reason "rule 4" (i suppose that the banned people break this rule), but there is no rule 4 in this community summary! so wich rule is it? thanks for read and sorry my bad english.

Lemmy.ml rule 4 is "No Ads / Spamming." I assume they're referring to that

So the Lemmy.ml ruleset cover all the communitys it has?

Exactly, which can become problematic for instances where community and instance rulesets conflict.

That's basically a natural selection process though, worst case is that you'll want a second account somewhere else (e.g. several other instances have .ml banned because of politics as far as I know).

That's the downside of the whole federation thingy - something I'll personally happily take but everyone needs to be aware of.

That said: welcome! Take a seat, grab a drink, have fun :)

It still hurts my brain that somebody from Instance A can open a post on Instance B made by somebody from Instance C.

Each instance has its own global set of rules. And then each separate community has its own rules. So if there is no rule 4 in community, then it is rule 4 of the whole instance.
