There was a first season?

No, the first season starts Monday. Apparently it just had a high approval rating before release that they already gave the second season the green light.

That makes zero sense.

Just because the public hasn't seen it doesn't mean that the decisionmakers, and people the decisionmakers trust, haven't seen it either. The review embargo lifted yesterday and there are plenty of reviews of the entire 10-episode season. None of them seem glowing, but none of them seem bad, either.

That means the first season is completely finished, that the execs and the reviewers liked it enough to believe that an early renewal makes sense, given the existing Rick and Morty fanbase (and what I imagine is a pretty modest budget).

And those people famously have great taste!

Its not about taste, its about money and statistics.

This is why Netflix recommends absolute trash to you and tells you it has an 95% approval rating.

Apparently, it starts Sunday, with the first episode airing immediately after the season finale of Rick and Morty

i saw some clips of it, dint realize they were already filming 2nd season. probably double dipping on the rick and morty fan base. im guess the OG show needed a hiatus between season, and they need people to continually subscribed to show, since roiland was forced from the show a while back,.

I had no idea this was a thing.

Excellent.
