I thought the whole point of having international collegiate students was to attract them to stay in the US, this is literally accelerating the brain drain. We really live in the stupidest timeline, at least in the US.

You gotta understand his orders are "destroy America" and that's what he's doing. He's just stupid enough to think it's winning and he's getting one over on his masters.

I don't get why they care. This feels like it only has downsides

The ice raids line the pockets of people who manage farm labor. There's a profit/exploitation motive there. This just seems backwards for the sake of xenophobia alone

4 years for a stem PhD is pretty short! How dumb

In my field it’s pretty much impossible. They can apply for an extension, but of course nobody knows how those will work in practice. Investing 4 years of your life not knowing if you will be able to stay in the program until you get a degree can be a dealbreaker for those students who have options. Definitely another punch in the face for American science.
