Man, I was already holding my nose voting for him in the primary because I didn't think texas voters would go for Crockett, a black woman, in the general. We had already lost a close battle to replace Cruz in the last general election of a texas senator and i did not want a repeat.

This is truly disappointing, I'll definitely going to be writing a letter of disappointment to his campaign, not that that does squat.

Saw "Newsom killed" and got excited, then hopes promptly dashed with the rest of the headline.

This guy is going to be the (in some cases literal) death of democrats in '28 when they inevitably force him on us so they can yet again blame the voters for not showing up to vote for a turd soup vs a shit sandwich.

Galveston Island Brewing is amazing. Its actually my top brewery in all of the Houston metropolitan area. Everything they've made tastes great and they actually make a plethora of different beer types instead of all ipa's.

I was actually just there yesterday and was great. In November they should have a couple of my favorites tapped: drunk dunkel and coastal christmas

Other than them, naked iguana is close to the strand and decent, I just try not to support them because they are very pro-cops and feds, which is not my jam.

Another beer recommendation (and whiskey) is beerfoot they have a great collection of local beers and an eclectic whiskey collection

Texas is basically at the foreground of voter suppression, tons of disinformation being thrown around, polling places being fucked with and removed last second, and for district based races, we're basically the apex of gerrymandering in the states.

Last election tons of blue districts in houston were running out of paper ballots and not getting requisition forms filled, then they refused to extend the poll hours to let people vote, so people in disenfranchised areas waited hours to vote and still got turned away.

Its about staunching the bleeding and preventing (more) voters from switching to Democrat. Ive talked to several people who voted red for all their life that are breaking ranks and i assume they've seen the same so they're very scared. Talarico seems to have a better shot then any democrat in recent history to flip a senate seat, even more than Beto before he shot himself in the foot by going hard against guns in Texas after the mass shooting in El paso, his hometown.

Sorry I did not notice the community until right now, ill jot respond back after this to leave you this space. I was just trying to empathize with women by satirising how the type of man would view the sign that it was created for.

I think its such a perfect comparison because Tolkien meant for the ring to be a physical representation for fascism. Much of Tolkien's work was heavily influenced from his experiences in World War I
