SDF is malconfigured. The “Create Community” option is given at the top of the screen, which means SDF is configured to allow usres to create new communities.
We get a blank form. We take the time to fill out all the details of the new community. Then when we click “Create” we get a bogus error popup falsely claiming that the community already exists.

It works correctly. Check through a different instance, you'll probably find that the community already exists, but it disappeared locally in the 9month wipe.

The community is the first of its kind. There is nothing in the fedi with the same name, past or present.
Nor would it matter if it did exist. The Lemmyverse db shows lots of communities with the same name across different instances.
Try it. Create “lkjsdfcjai9frej09frfe4trj”, which is just some random string that would not exist anywhere. It gives “that community already exists”.
(edit) I see that you have not created any groups since 2023.

That's cool! I hope you figure it out eventually!

i have a theory, you might want to test out.
i believe that newly made user accounts (post 9month apocalypse) can make communities.
