They have a paid proprietary web UI for administration, but it's not needed. All of the necessary components of rustdesk have always been fully FOSS.
Maybe you are confusing rustdesk with Ventoy, which did, and still does have issues with binary blobs in the repo (although a lot of cleanup work has been done so it's not hopeless, thankfully)?
Thanks, You made me go check. Apparently the newer Flutter GUI is open source, the previous Sciter version had binaries that contained closed-source components. The Pro version was always closes.
