Given that a lot of Canadians are already avoiding US products, banning it or not won't make a lot of difference for most people.

Sure, but he is already doing that whether we give him an excuse or not.

When the reaction is chaotic and hostile no matter what you do (or don't do) that puts us in a position to do what is best for ourselves without having to worry as much about any potential reactions.

Mark Johnson, a spokesperson for the Public Health Agency of Canada, said cyclospora is not commonly found on food and is not in Canada’s drinking water, which makes eating local produce a way to reduce the risk of getting sick.

Canada knows about washing things so they may be safe even if they buy some questionable lettuce. This is because our health minister is about the science and not about the cult of money, performance and gut feelings.
