In a highly unusual move, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) committee voted against FDA staff’s own advice in a meeting on July 23 and 24, recommending that six peptides be added to a list that will allow certain specialty pharmacies to dispense them. Currently, those peptides are in a legal gray area. The committee voted against adding to the list one of the peptides being considered, emideltide.

This is what regulatory capture looks like, folks. Many voting members “consult with or are employed by companies that could promote or dispense peptides,” the panel voted against FDA staff recommendations, and industry and financial incentives (including telehealth companies and influencers) played a visible role in testimony and market reactions

Sure was! Only difference is now they're doing it all out in the open and all at once, so it's very, very easy to connect the dots even for those not paying attention.

2021: Biogen threatens to stop Alzheimer research unless their drug, aduhelm is approved.
FDA approves Aduhelm, despite advisory committee resigning in protest.
A few deaths from brain hemorrhage later, Aduhelm is done by 2023. No neurologist will prescribe it. It's OK, Biogen made $8B in stock pump and dumps, while writing off $230M in drug.
We learned a lesson, right?...nope, FDA did it again with Leqembi, except this time they didn't bother with an expert advisory committee. Once again, deaths from brain swelling and no real effect on disease.
