I'm cautiously optimistic that Burnham's fondness for regionalism will mean he genuinely respects the devolved governments. Time will tell, of course, but I have hope

Independence is not realistically happening with a new PM that hasn't gone through a general election and no particular campaigning going in Scotland above the usual level. Recent opinion polls mostly show a narrow plurality for indy, but we need to sway more Scots than a narrow and unstable gap to make a democratically legitimate case
