God help you if you give them one or throw one up in the air

I still laugh about a family at a beach giving the seagulls cheetos. They were throwing them up to one, then there were 10, then there were many, many, many seagulls chasing them down the beach.

When my kid was ten or so, we took him and some of his friends to the beach.

One of his freinds went and got a bucket of boardwalk fries and was planning to come back to our umbrella/tent city to chow down and enjoy the beach.

HAHAHA the gulls mauled him, he got mugged by those birds. I watched it and it was like a scene from The Birds! Once I stopped laughing I went and got him another bucket.

We used to fill our toddler's pockets with bird seed and watch the birds chase it until child protection took it away.

Oh the memories.

In my late 20s I had just started my first real job as a programmer at a small company of about 10 people, I was kinda shy and hadn't talked to people much. One day a woman was talking about her trip to New York and how there was this famous hotdog stand near the statue of liberty and how the seagulls just terrorised her and people buying hotdogs, swooping in to steal the sausages right out of your hands.

People were laughing and chatting about it and I joined in by wondering out loud if you could put a mannequin on a bench there and put hotdog meat in its eyesockets and teach seagulls to think that human eyeballs were made of hotdog.

The room went completely silent.

I'm now married to the secretary from that job. This was the first thing she remembers ever hearing me say.

My jackass coworker feeds them on our lunch break and eventually more came so now our cars are perpetually covered in bird shit... I had to find a new place to park far away from him...

I once tried feeding seagulls some Taco Bell fries that I didn't want. They looked right at the fries and flew away. If that's not a damning review of their quality, I don't know what is.
