Fun fact homie. You don't hate capitalism, you hate the broken bastardized version that we have implemented in the West that is designed to funnel money to the top.
The academic model of capitalism works just fine. You know what we're missing? Morals, motherfucker.
That little Scottish bastard Adam Smith was right during their American revolution. We just broke the system.
Then why are you calling the version of it I know a 'broken bastardized version'? Broken and bastardized compared to what -- some theoretical idea that never has been and never will be real?
Nah, fam. This is capitalism. It's not broken -- it's working exactly how it's meant to.
Capitalism is just fine. The definition you gave of "capital above all else" is just not true. That's how corporations are trying to get away with their current use of the capitalist system.
Capitalism is meant to operate in a free market. The actual problem is the lack of pricing externalities properly.
So when you pump a gallon of gasoline, there is nothing in there priced to account for the environmental damage. Impossible to quantify obviously, but we don't even try. It's economics 101: if you don't account for externalities, you don't have a truly efficient market.
Trees provide the service of cleaning the air and providing oxygen. That value should be accounted for before clearcutting a forest. Likewise the value of the biodiversity within the forest.
So what is actually happening is those with capital are creating the rules, and any attempt to account for the very real value of these things is squashed.... with the capital. That's why it'll never work. If we accounted for all externalities somehow, capitalism would be a perfect system.
But since people literally could give a shit if an 8 year old orphan with cerebral palsy made their shirt, as long as their shirt costs 5 bucks..... this is what you get.
And all that excess value stolen from nature, and from citizens (clean air for example)? That's what you find in the bank accounts of the CEOs and oligarchs.

I have enough hatred to cover both capitalism and being shackled to the human concept of time.

False.
That's just capitalism. That's how it's SUPPOSED to work.
It's in the word itself: it's an ideology (or ism) that values the accumulation of capital over everything else.
Funneling money to the top isn't a bug. It's the defining feature.

More fun fact: I actually do hate capitalism because I hate hierarchical systems of domination like private property and the States required to create and uphold capitalism.
Even more fun fact: Anarchists have heard your """fun""" """fact""" so many times from so many different capitalist apologists that we have written literally thousands of pages over the course of over a century about it. Here are some of those pages! Here are even more pages! Pages upon pages of ultra fun facts!

Tell me, where can I find capitalism that isn't broken and bastardized? Where is this utopia on earth?
OldQWERTYbastard@lemmy.dbzer0.com · -1 pts · 34d
It doesn't exist. Surprise!

Down vote me straight to hell if you want. You know I'm right and that's why you hate it.
The further a population drifts from the truth, the more they will hate those who speak it.

Nope. I know you're confidently and condescendingly wrong. That's why I'm downvoting and explaining it to you.

So you're both wrong.....

That's a lot of words comparing capitalism to a parasitic relationship then saying if we wish it wasn't parasitic enough it wouldn't be.
OwOarchist@pawb.social · 4 pts · 34d
Yeah. That's why it's called capital-ism. That's how capitalism has always worked, always will work. It's the single defining feature of capitalism.
