Manchester mayor Andy Burnham has been strongly criticised for meeting personally with representatives from the 'anti-trans' group LGB Alliance.

Although no longer surprising, it's frustrating that across the western world left-wing parties are now needing to fight twice as hard to maintain the status quo—let alone make progress—against not only right-wing and fascist parties, but also center-left parties that are caving in to fascist demands in an attempt at "big tent" politics.

First-past-the-post produces low quality complacent centre-left politicians winning pseudo-majority governments with only a minority of the vote.

Which naturally ends up with the rise of the far-right.

Burnham was not aware prior to the meeting that the individuals were from the LGB Alliance. In their initial letter to him they identified themselves as “Labour party women, senior academics and lawyers”

As per their MO, they used deceit to get a platform. The statement Burnham's office put out claims he has made his support for the trans community clear over the years. I would love to see him go further and denounce the LGB Alliance.
