What do people expect after entering a bus? That the driver and all 80 other passengers will patiently wait until they have found their seats before pulling away?
People coming on will go straight for a handle. This is for people who have to let go to allow others off, to rest their arms during a stop, or a host of other normal behaviours. It sounds like you have never been on a bus before.
