God, that's an awful adaptation of the French movie. In the original version, she was not wrongly accused, she was sent in prison on purpose. Also it was not a cheesy spy thing, it was a love/drama movie with some action on top. I swear American directors always find a way to wreck everything they touch.
the canadian tv adaptation heavily retooled the premise closer to straightforward spy/black ops fiction. funnily enough, Point of No Return the american remake was fairly faithful to the original premise and John Badham direction was very solid.

just like Alias - it is a good bubblegum spy tv show if you don't think too hard about it. Peta Wilson and Roy Dupuis are peak though
