I think Lemmy.zip doesn’t let you upload gifs anymore. I wanted to post a reaction gif but it keeps erroring out. Buzzkill honestly.
Edit; damn now it lets me. I’m not sure why I get errors sometimes 🤷♂️

Depends on what front end/UI you're using I'd bet. Shows up fine for me on m.lemmy.zip and the Voyager app.

I've noticed that sometimes Voyager just decides "nah, fuck these images". Particularly when they're images hosted on a different instance from the one I'm logged in on, being lemmy.zip in my case. It seems to be related to the DNS attached to my VPN, as disconnecting/reconnecting the VPN tends to correct this for a few days.
Outside of that, I only have a bare minimum of knowledge when it comes to this stuff, especially when it can be any number of issues.
