There's no video confirming that Mitch McConnell is alive, because he died a few weeks ago.
grue@lemmy.world · 56 pts · 4d
Exactly. And if he didn't, there's one way they can easily prove it. Refusal to do so is an admission.

He’s rigor tortoise. 🐢

Seems even McConnell’s staff is incapable of serving the people of Kentucky. Hopefully they’ll remember at the ballot box that the GOP was more interested in serving itself than their constituents.

You have more faith in Kentucky than it deserves.

Kentuckian here, I will remeber this and I will make sure all friends and family remember this too. Mark my words, Kentucky is going to flip to blue.

I support you, good human.

No proof means he dead
I mean, he is in a hospital…
Its not like he is lost at sea

Let's say they do confirm it after, is that not blatant election interference? I know laws mean little right now, but they don't have to in 5 months.

I expect the spin will be, "He had been improving steadily for weeks, but today (coincidentally August 3), he suffered a massive stroke/cardiac arrest (pick one), and sadly, the doctors were unable to revive him."
qarbone@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 3d
An autospy would be able to tell when he died, and likely the age of injuries if they'd been keeping his corpse fresh from whatever has vegetablized him.
anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 2d
He’s probably on life support as long ass necessary. I would fully expect his care plans to include doing whatever it takes to fuck the people over.

They are not cornered if they can just leave.
plateee@piefed.social · 6 pts · 4d
That's like the exact opposite definition of cornered.

They already won whatever stupid game they were playing. The Republicans ALWAYS win the delay game. They wanted to delay until August 3rd or whatever the exact date is they needed to pass and July is essentially over, so they won. None of this matters anymore.
Jaycifer@piefed.social · 11 pts · 4d
It actually matters more and more until the deadline for a special election has passed. Then it matters for another day or two in case Kentucky decides to hold a special election anyway. THEN it stops mattering when they never do.

He’ll be right back after he recovers from this quick bout of death

But that was only for tax reasons, a very different way of defrauding the government.

“we can’t announce his death this close to an election “
CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca · 22 pts · 4d
“He’s not allowed to die until Aug 3”
“Otherwise his legacy wouldn’t have been racist and shitty enough.”
Jaysyn@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 3d
Can someone explain to me how this isn't fraud?
Also, didn't they forge his signature?
BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 16 pts · 3d
Oh it likely is, try to get the Republicans to do anything about a Republican doing it though.

When this is over, it will be time to prosecute MAGAs for their CRIMES, and here's a bunch right here.

I wonder if police can be asked to do a wellness check in a hospital
BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today · 8 pts · 3d
I saw a video by a woman whose company does business with the hospital, and she has to drop off brochures on every floor, so she has the run if the hospital, including restricted areas. She went up and down every hall, on every floor, and didn't see him in any room in the hospital.
He isn't even in the hospital. He's either ina long-term care facility, or a morgue somewhere.

The governor has the right to do one He hasn't. He's a Democrat
santa@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 4d
Only person tight-lipped here is Mitch. Probably harder to move lips when you are deceased.
The team has no spine like GOP. Nothing to do with lips.
Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 4d
Why would they admit their meal ticket is, if not a corpse, almost one?

What happens if they declare him dead after Aug 3rd will there be a reaction
Reddfugee42@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3d
Yeah, Republican laughter because the Democrat governor could have called for the special election but didn't
aceshigh@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 3d
They only need to stretch this out for a few more days and they’ll be in the clear.
Fmstrat@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2h
I still don't understand why others didnt start saying "If anyone is caught covering this up in the future, you will be prosecuted." Seems a simple way to get someone to leak the facts.
