I just want to turn off shorts completely. I know there are extensions that kind of do it, but they all cause problems for me while browsing videos.

I'll give that a try, but I'm not expecting it to work. All the other solutions have cause the feed to "rubber band" around randomly as I scroll when the shorts are dynamically removed from the feed.
