Gov. Newsom announces raise of CA minimum wage to become highest statewide rate in the nation

California is raising its statewide minimum wage to $17.40 per hour starting January 1, 2027.

I make $21/hr in San Diego county, and it is not nearly enough. This feels performative at best.

That might work in some states, but not California. That's the equivalent of $10 in most other places.

Bottom line: Corporations keep too much profit. They should be required to share 75% of their profits with their employees, on a quarterly basis.

Most people would work much harder at their jobs, if they thought there was a fat bonus every quarter. If it only makes the top guys richer, why bother?

Still not even close to cost of living never mind if your surplus value should be taken at all.
