I dunno linux has so much to offer, so many different ways to build your desktop.
Compositors, login screens, widgets, bars... theres like infinite ways to assemble pieces together and make your own custom experience.
Thats less about what OS you like the most, as theres only a couple flavors that are mainstream and it pretty much boils down to if you have a strong opinion on systemd or not.
But compositors?
Oh man... once you go down the rabbit hole of choosing what compositor you wanna use, you can get completely different and unique experiences from your desktop.
And I think thats pretty awesome. I spent several weeks ricing my desktop with hyprland to produce my dream desktop experience and overall Im pretty happy with it.
i'm in the same boat right now, not just the os but all the software i use
have found some pretty great alternatives which has been somewhat fun
base os choice is tough though

Maybe, but I used to get excited about my favorite operating system. Now I just hope they don't fuck it up any further.
