I rely heavily on rituals when entering/leaving the house and always keep the same things in the same pockets to help mitigate this. The "[ ] week(s) since I last searched for my glasses on my face" sign resets to zero more than I'd like, though.
Assuming this is about finding something you put down somewhere i think about where I started and I can't remember what I did but I think about WHY I was going to do something.
Ex: where's my phone?
Ok I'm in the living room, I was in my office, before I sat down I was thirsty so I went to the kitchen to get a drink, which means I touched the counter, the fridge and the sink, I now have 3 places I can look for my phone.
