In the Toy Story series (1995-2026), toys are aware of their nature as toys, excluding every Buzz, who consistently aren't. This suggests inherent Buzz racial and intellectual inferiority.
The alien toys in the claw game don't seem to realize they are toys. Maybe every toy has to have a journey of self-discovery to learn they are indeed toys.
Though it doesn't explain why they instinctively know to stop moving around humans. 🤔
What about robots? How about toy robots? What about androids? What if a toy is made from living tissue? Or a mix of both?
Like the other user said, there are toys in the claw machine that don’t know they are toys too. I haven’t seen the newest movie, but in the toy store in TS2 new toys mostly knew they were toys.
The TS toys are kinda of like an SCP series of objects. They have an instinct to freeze when humans are known to be observing. Anomalous behavior matching this description was observed in toys that are unaware that they are toys.
Their instinct can be overcame at will however, as seen at the end of TS1 when confronting Sid. Toys can remain in control of limbs at a distance in some cases (Mr. Potato head, various) or not be controlled (ie Buzz as Mrs. Nesbit, TS1).

Instinct like deer in head lights. Its a survival mechanism developed over millions of years so they dont get kicked into a bonfire...

Are there non-alive “toys”?
