It seems like Edge still has the license, but in 5 years they have yet to put out something new, which makes me pretty sad. I have been waiting for all kinds of things, more than a Force Awakens / Sequel Trilogy intro box, something New Republic era, or an Old Republic book to go with the games and comics would be great. I am sure Edge Studio or an anonymous source once said Disney is not approving anything, but that could be an apologist or just conjecture, or could be totally true, but no one seems to be saying anything.
Still quite early to get any firm information on what D&D's Season of Rebellion is really going to bring, but I bet there will be hundreds of 'leaks' videos over the next year that will be sure to be mostly wrong.

Pretty unrelated but the brief comment about Darth Vader's appearance brought back a strange memory from the early 80s.
At my work there was a "circuit fab" room - a cavernous room where circuit boards were made by plating and dissolving layers of different coatings on them. There was an array of 60 or 80 large open sink-like tanks of various fluids, many of them heated and bubbling. Mechanisms riding on rails above them moved batches of boards from tank to tank. A maze of pipes and electrical conduits ran everywhere. The whole floor was a grill for liquids to drip through. Workers wore coveralls, goggles, and big black rubber gloves. It was hot, steamy, smelly, and weirdly lit.
On one wall, about 20 ft up, was a catwalk that ran the length of the room with a door at each end. One afternoon a door opened and in walked Darth Vader, carrying a glowing light saber. He walked the whole length of the catwalk, pausing once to look down at us, and went out the other door. There was no context for this - It wasn't Halloween or anything. Just Darth Vader walking through circuit fab.
