Every year, I teach an introductory course on Canadian politics to hundreds of students at a Montreal university. There are a few central themes around which I frame the history and institutions of politics in this country. Federalism and regionalism take centre stage, of course, as does the idea of democratic deficit.

This article completely ignores the fact that massive amounts of funding for the separatists' campaigns are coming from the US who declared their intention to conquer us. So, if the referendum had no influence from Mr Orange to the South, the separatists would have about as much funding as the flat earth society. This is how Russia rolled on Ukraine: pretending to be liberating a group that 'doesn't belong' in Ukraine. Now, how about we lock up the collusive traitors, then re-evaluate how much support there is for a referendum? Oh wait, Smith would be behind bars then. The frankly absurd amount of far-right propaganda we're getting launched at us every minute of every day would be comical if it wasn't an existential threat.

Sorry. Appeal to authority is a sophism
However he’s right in saying that we attack separatists voters but we’re doing it in the same way we attack Conservatives or right nut one. We’re saying « you are scam and you’re to dumb to see it »
This separation vote (and the next Quebec one) will be win by con people and saying that we attack democracy by calling it out is truly some on surface introductory political discourse
