The small town where I grew up recently had a Mennonite community relocate there, think Amish-lite. There'd always been a small group but a few years ago about 30 families relocated from out of state to a huge farm about 10 miles outside of this smallish town (pop. about 20k). They opened a big produce/farm store and the community has been very accepting and welcoming. They make some really incredible baked goods and deli sandwiches. I know we don't like religion around here but for the most part they're hard working relatively honest people who want to be left alone to live their lives and I think we can all understand that and want the same.

I used to live in Amish country. The hardware store and the wholesale store had horse parking.
