I knew a fair number of Russians who claimed with a straight face that the Soviet Union had invented Winnie the Pooh and simply would not accept any AA Milne nonsense.

funnily enough, soviet winnie the pooh is basically trevor phillips which is quite a leap from a bro's bro from the books
