The Fifa Forward Enterprise plan that was last week abandoned after four days involved a 21% stake being sold to Thrive Capital for $4.2bn (£3.1bn). The US private equity firm is led by Joshua Kushner, the brother of Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
So in the end, the only way corruption gets stopped is when other corrupt people/organizations stand to lose money on it, or even just not make as much money as they otherwise would.
It's telling that CONCACAF's rationale for being against it was because they weren't consulted first... not because they didn't like the plan, just that they didn't know about it ahead of time.
