Sounds more like the Indian government wanted an apology for Facebook removing a state propaganda video, and added the other apology requirement for PR.

Earlier on Wednesday, Meta representatives also met IT secretary S Krishnan, who gave them three days to apologise for removing PM Narendra Modi's video on exam reforms for five hours and for hosting sex abuse content on its platforms.

One of those things is not like the others

Can't be sure of that these days

PRIMEcavitationfetishist@quokk.au · 2 pts · 26d (3 replies)

Yeah, why would fasch care about csam?

XLE@piefed.social · 1 pts · 26d (2 replies)

Oh, they don't - that's why they don't talk about CSAM prevention until they have no other choice. Authoritarianism uses "it's for the children" to justify their motives, but when something authoritarian can't be excused (like forcing Facebook to promote their propaganda), then they attach something like this as an excuse.

i.e. they don't care, they just know normal people do.

PRIMEcavitationfetishist@quokk.au · 2 pts · 25d (1 reply)

That's not actually true now that I think about it.

Fasch all care very much about csam, and probably talk about it a lot. Just not where you and I can see.

Touché.

Mark Zuckerberg apologies for child sex abuse and deepfake content, then goes back to making more money off them.

Cheebus@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 27d (3 replies)

Admission of guilt, he’s responsible for generating CSAM and should face consequences for his actions

bitteroldcoot@piefed.social · 8 pts · 27d (1 reply)

Billionaires don't face consequences in the usa. Maybe in Europe or Asia, but not here.

And especially not under the trump regime.

Archimedes@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 27d

It's the same in Europe and Asia, it's just their billionaires aren't celebrities so no one gives a fuck.

He and his wife need to be killed. How many genocides have they assisted? Theyre basically on the governing council of the guild of calamitous intent.

toiletobserver@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 28d (3 replies)

The fine should have been 50% of revenue and mandatory third party oversight.

some_designer_dude@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 28d (1 reply)

Zuckerberg is nearing death penalty levels of criminality. Fuck fines. Imprison these parasites, at best.

PRIMEcavitationfetishist@quokk.au · 2 pts · 26d

Nearing? He's been instrumental in multiple genocides. Kill him. Kill his entire family.

PRIMEcavitationfetishist@quokk.au · 1 pts · 26d

The fine should have been locking it and its family in its bunkers and filling them with concrete.

This is the shit that happens when you have a Fail Upwards CEO that cannot be forced out through legal means.

As a shareholder, you just bleed.

Archimedes@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 27d (1 reply)

Those poor shareholders

MushuChupacabra@piefed.world · 1 pts · 22d

They can either dump their stock, or find a way to force Zuckerberg out to stop the egregious losses tied directly to his idiotic ventures.

Force him out, stop the bleeding.

No, there isn't a legal mechanism to remove him. But that's more of a shareholder concern than mine.
